Technical Sergeant Anthony C. Amelse, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Amelse, Fall Creek, Route 3, and Staff Sergeant John D. Turner, 26, son of John Turner, Rock Falls, who returned from overseas, are now being processed at Army Air Forces Redistribution Station No. 2, Miami Beach, FL, where their next assignments will be determined.
Sergeant Amelse, a B-17 radio-gunner, flew 51 missions during 18 months in the European Theater. He was awarded the Air Medal with nine Clusters and a Presidential Unit Citation.
Sergeant Turner was a draftsman and machinist during 25 months in Panama.
Technical Sergeant Anthony C. Amelse, son of Adrian Amelse, Eau Claire, is a student in the Instructors' Unit at Galveston Airfield, Texas. Here, he will be trained to serve as instructor at the various crew training bases. Overseas for nine months, Sergeant Amelse took part in 51 missions in the Mediterranean Theater and was awarded the Air Medal with nine Oak Leaf Clusters and received a citation. He returned to the United States on August 2, last.
