|15TH AAF IN ITALY--Sergeant Lester A. Anderson, 39[?], of
809 1/2 Second Avenue, Eau Claire, WI, has been awarded the Good Conduct
Medal, it was announced by the Fifteenth Army Air Force.
In the words of the citation, which accompanied the award, Sergeant Anderson's work has "demonstrated fidelity through faithful and exact performance of duty, efficiency through capacity to produce desired results." It also mentions that his "behavior has been such to deserve emulation."
Sergeant Anderson is stationed in Italy with a Fifteenth Army Air Forces Liberator Bombardment Group, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Joseph G. Russell of San Antonio, Texas. Serving with the headquarters staff, Sergeant Anderson is a member of a veteran group which has completed over 100 missions against strategic targets in the network of German rail, industrial, and oil centers throughout southern Europe and the Balkans.
