Lester J. Anderson

Among those now beginning a nine-week pilot training course on four-engine Liberator bombers here is Second Lieutenant Lester J. Anderson of Prairie Farm, WI.

Lieutenant Anderson was hand-picked by Army Air Forces experts as having those qualities needed to become a commander of four-engine battlecraft, and his training will be as complete and thorough as the Army Air Forces can make it. On completion of the course here, he will receive further training within the Army Air Forces Training Command.

Serve on the Seas or Overseas
First Lieutenant Lester J. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Anderson of Prairie Farm, is pilot on a B-24 Liberator bomber and is stationed in southern Italy.

Lieutenant Anderson received his training at Huntington, WV; Maxwell Field, AL; and Valdosta, GA. He received his pilot's wings in February 1944 and went to Italy in August.

He has flown 42 missions over enemy territory.

Before entering the service, he worked in his father's store.
