Ernest L. Blomquist

PVT. ERNEST BLOMQUIST
Private Ernest L. Blomquist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Blomquist, Eleva, Route 3, arrived in North Africa the latter part of November. 

Recently, he wrote of his arrival in Italy.

He entered the service in May 1943 and took his training at Camp Wolters, Texas and Fort George Meade, MD.


War Prisoner
PVT. ERNEST BLOMQUIST
Mr. and Mrs. C. Blomquist, Eleva, have been notified that their son, Private Ernest L. Blomquist, is a prisoner of war in a German prison camp 

He had been listed as missing in action in Italy since February 16. 

Private Blomquist was connected with the Infantry and was in the Battle of Casino.


Freed From Work Camp in Germany
Private Ernest Blomquist, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Blomquist, Route 3, Eleva, who was liberated from a work camp in connection with Stalag 7-A on May 3, returned to his home on June 1. 

He entered the service in May 1943 and, after training at Camp Wolters, Texas and Fort George Meade, MD, went overseas in October 1943. He participated in the landing at Anzio and in the Battle of Casino. 

He was captured on February 16, 1944 at Anzio.
