|Gerald Theodore Boehmke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore
Boehmke, 818 Doty Street, is now a Private in the United States Marine
Corps. Boehmke was enlisted through the Marine Corps Recruiting Office
at La Crosse.
Private Boehmke will be home on inactive duty for several weeks, before beginning his "boot training" at San Diego, California.
Sergeant W. C. Golz, recruiting officer at La Crosse, has a few more openings for 17-year-old men from this area for the March quota but is also accepting applications from men who wish to enlist in April. Men who have not reached their 18th birthday and are in sound physical condition are eligible for enlistment. Golz is also accepting enlistments from men between 38 and 45 for Guard Duty and women between 20 and 36 years of age for the Marine Corps Women's Reserve. Information on any one of these groups may be received by applying or writing to the Marine Corps Recruiting Office, Federal Building, La Crosse.
