Donald Books

PFC. DONALD BOOKS
Private First Class Donald Books, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Books, 126 Ferry Street, has arrived in England, according to word received by his parents. 

He entered the service in January 1943 and received his training at Camp Robinson, AR; Fort Meade, MD and Camp McCoy, WI.  

He has a brother serving with the Fifth Army in Italy and one stationed at Camp Croft, SC.


Infantryman is Killed in France
PFC. DONALD BOOKS 
Private First Class Donald Books was killed in action in France on August 5, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Books, 126 Ferry Street, on August 26. 

Private First Class Books was first gunner with a machine gun squad in the Infantry. 

He entered the service in January 1943; trained at Camp Robinson, AR; Fort Meade, MD and Camp McCoy, WI; arrived in England in April, and went to France in June.

Besides his parents, he is survived by four brothers, Private First Class Raymond Books, in Italy; Private Willis Books, Camp Croft, SC; Louis and Lyle, at home; and one sister, Marjorie.

Private First Class Donald Books is a cousin of Lieutenant Dallas Books, Army Air Corps, pilot, son of Fire Chief and Mrs. O. T. Books, who was killed in action in the European Theater a short time ago.


Corporal Willis E. Books, son of Mr. and Mrs. Allie Books, has arrived in Italy, according to word received by his wife, who resides at 1227 Bellevue Avenue. 

Corporal Books entered the service on May 26, 1943 and received his training at Camp Croft, SC and Fort George G. Meade, MD. 

He is serving in the Infantry. 

He has one brother, Raymond, who is serving in the Field Artillery in southern France. Another brother, Donald, who served in a machine gun squad, was killed in action in France, August 5, last. A third brother, Louis, is waiting his call to the Merchant Marines.
