ENSIGN CHARLES B. BROWN
Ensign Charles B. Brown, commissioned as an Ensign at Annapolis, MD  last Tuesday, has been visiting his mother, Mrs. John R. Brown, Sr., at Fall Creek and Eau Claire friends, preliminary to reporting for duty on May 14. 

He has been detailed to the Commander of the Third Naval District, New York City for engineering duty.

Ensign Brown is a graduate of the Eau Claire Senior High, of the Eau Claire State Teachers College, and of the University of Wisconsin and has just finished the U-7[?] Engineering School at the U.S. Naval Academy.


Lieutenant (junior grade) Charles B. Brown arrived Friday by airplane from San Diego, CA to spend a short leave with his mother, Mrs. John R. Brown, Sr., of Fall Creek, and relatives and friends in Eau Claire. Lieutenant Brown has been in active service in the South Pacific since last October and took part in five major campaigns in that area. He is a graduate of Eau Claire State Teachers College and the University of Wisconsin. He was trained in the Navy V-12 program and was graduated from Annapolis. Lieutenant Brown's sister, Mrs. Harold Dole, of Sturgeon Bay, has also been visiting her mother and friends in Eau Claire.
