Stanley Jerald Cardinal

Stanley Jerald Cardinal was commissioned Lieutenant, Junior Grade in the United States Naval Reserve on August 24, when he completed the six-year dental course as a member of the Naval Training Program at the University of Minnesota and received the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery.

Lieutenant Cardinal is spending a 30-day leave with both his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Cardinal of Chippewa Falls, and his wife, the former Miss Lois Pire of Eau Claire.

He will report to Great Lakes, IL on September 25.

Miss Lois Pire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irwin J. Pire, 1035 Third Avenue, this city, and Midshipman Stanley J. Cardinal, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Cardinal, Chippewa Falls, took place at 4 o'clock in the afternoon of April 8 in the First Methodist Church of Minneapolis. Reverend Virgil Kraft read the service. 

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a white wool dress with navy accessories and a corsage of  gardenias and tea roses. She was attended by her sister, Miss Joan Lindsay, dressed in ice blue crepe with black accessories and a corsage of jonquils. The best man was William Nelson of Chippewa Falls.

Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was served at the St. Paul Athletic Club for immediate members of the family.

Mrs. Cardinal, a student in the Kahler School of Nursing, Rochester, MN was in training at  the University of Minnesota Hospital until June. She has now returned to Rochester to complete her course.

Midshipman Cardinal is enrolled in the School of Dentistry at the university. Upon graduation in August, he will report for active duty with the U.S. Navy.
