|CAPT. ARTHUR COLEMAN
First Lieutenant Arthur E. Coleman, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Coleman, 2002 Birch Street, has been promoted to the rank of Captain, according to word received by his parents.
He is, at present, Commanding Officer of a quartermaster truck company engaging in transportation of supplies to Normandy, where his unit has been operating since shortly after D-Day.
Captain Coleman entered the service March 17, 1942 and received his basic training at Fort McClellan, AL. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps at Camp Lee, VA on November 3, 1942, after completing Officer Candidate School.
Before entering the service, he was a postal clerk. He is married to the former Elizabeth Rosschaert of Omaha, NE, and they have one daughter, Suzanne.
Captain Coleman is a graduate of St. Patrick's High School and was graduated from the State Teachers College here in 1939.
