Technician Fifth Grade Guy L. Cooper, whose wife resides at 770 1/2 First Street, has been promoted to Sergeant. He is serving with a Field Artillery unit in the South Pacific and was awarded a Bronze Battle Star for participation in the Guadalcanal Campaign.

|Guy L. Cooper, whose wife resides at 770 1/2 First
Street, has completed 21 months overseas duty in the South Pacific.
Technician Fifth Grade Guy L. Cooper is now going through intensive training at a rear base with a field artillery outfit. This outfit participated in the campaign for Guadalcanal.
Shortly after being assigned to this outfit, he was promoted to Technician Fifth Grade. His versatility, as well as his continued high standard maintained in the performance of duty, will continue to aid him in further advancement.
Upon induction into the service, he was sent to Fort Sill, OK, where he received his training, prior to being sent overseas in April 1943.
Prior to induction, he was employed by the U.S. Rubber Company in Eau Claire, WI.
