Private Russell Eugene Crandell, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Crandell, 1433 Highland Avenue, has arrived at the University of Minnesota for a course in Army Air Force instruction, lasting approximately five months, prior to his appointment as an Aviation Cadet in the Army Air Forces.

Aviation Cadet Russell Crandell, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Crandell, 1423 Highland Avenue, has arrived at the Army Air Base Preflight School at Santa Ana, CA. He will soon be transferred to one of the Army Air Forcesí western flying schools for flight training.

Russell Eugene Crandell, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Crandell, of 1433 Highland Avenue, received his silver wings today, when he graduated as a Flight Officer from Marfa Army Air Field, Texas, an advanced two-engine pilot school of the Army Air Forces Training Command, it was announced by Colonel A. J. Kerwin Malone, Commanding Officer of March 11.

The new pilot completed a course in training in twin-engines aircraft. He was assigned there from Gardner Field, Taft, CA.

He attended senior high school here.
