Homer T. Culver

Lieutenant (junior grade) Homer Culver has arrived home on a 10-day leave after completing his course at Tucson, AZ. He will report for further training at Fort Schuyler, NY on March 28. Lieutenant Culver was manager of the Culver Shoe Store before entering the service.

Serves Overseas on Landing Craft
Lieutenant (junior grade) Homer T. Culver, who was commissioned in the United States Naval Reserve in December 1943, is now serving on the seas on an LST.

After receiving his commission, Lieutenant Culver attended indoctrination school at Tucson, AZ and then a two-month course at Fort Schuyler, NY.

Upon graduation, he was placed in amphibious training at Camp Bradford, Norfolk, VA and, after two months, was assigned to an LST (landing ship, tank) as Stores Officer and Assistant Executive Officer. He has now left the country for overseas duty.

Lieutenant Culver is on leave of absence as manager of the Culver Shoe Store, while in service.
