Ruby S. Dammann

Private Ruby Dammann, who has been stationed at Selman Field, LA for the past three months, is spending a brief delay-en-route visiting at the home of Mrs. Margaret Blum, 233 Broadway. Her mother, Mrs. Thora Homme of Osseo, is also here. Private Dammann, formerly a teacher in the Eau Claire Public Schools, received her basic training at Daytona Beach. She is engaged in drafting and photographic interpretation in the Women’s Army Corps.

Private Ruby S. Dammann of Eau Claire was in the first group of recruits reporting for duty at Army Air Forces Training Command Headquarters at Fort Worth, TX. She enlisted in the Women's Army Corps directly for service with the Army Air Forces.

Private Dammann attended Eau Claire State Teachers College and the Chicago Art Institute and was a teacher in Eau Claire before enlisting.

The new Air WACs, enlisted shortly after the current recruiting drive was begun in October, reported to Training Command Headquarters upon completion of eight weeks of basic military training. They are quartered at nearby Fort Worth Army Air Field.
