Mark W. Decker

At graduation ceremonies, August 30, Luke Field, AZ, Mark W. Decker, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Decker, 609 Bolles Street, received the Army Air Corps silver wings and a Second Lieutenant's commission in the Army Air Corps Reserve.

Formerly, he was a student at the Eau Claire High School.

Mark was, for many years, an instructor-pilot at the Eau Claire Airport and is a half-brother to Rick Hense, who was also a trainer for pilots and owned the Hense Sign Company. Rick's son, Rick Hense, Jr., played baseball for the University of Wisconsin-Madison and played for the Washington Senators for a brief period of time. Rick, Jr., also was also a talented ski jumper for the Eau Claire Flying Eagles.
