While serving with the Headquarters of the Army’s Service and Supply for the entire South Pacific area, Gerald G. Drehmel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl H. Drehmel, Route 3, Fall Creek, WI, has been promoted to the grade of Private First Class. Private First Class Drehmel has been serving as a clerk in the Transportation Division of the headquarters which supervises the movement of all personnel and supplies within the South Pacific area. He is stationed in New Caledonia.
Gerald G. Drehmel, son of Karl Drehmel, Route 3, Fall Creek, Wisconsin has been promoted from Technician Fourth Grade in the Transportation Section of the South Pacific Army Headquarters.
A graduate in agriculture and science at the State Teachers College at River Falls, Wisconsin, Sergeant Drehmel had entered the Enlisted Reserve Corps in September 1942. He entered active Army service in June 1943 and arrived in New Caledonia in November 1943.
Private Edward Drehmel has arrived in England, according to a letter received by his wife and son.
Private Drehmel entered the service on April 20, 1944 and went overseas in December 1944. He received his training at Fort Bliss, TX with the AART Battalion; in South Carolina; Fort George Meade, MD; and Boston with the Infantry.
He has two other brothers serving in the Army, Corporal Arvid Drehmel in Florida and Sergeant Gerald Drehmel in New Caledonia.
