Lt. Dan Erickson Lost in Airplane Crash Over Ocean

Second Lieutenant Dan M. Erickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin K. Erickson, 1528 Emery Street, has been reported lost, as a result of an airplane crash 180 miles east of Palm Beach, Florida. The organized search for airplane and missing crew has been abandoned.

Second Lieutenant Dan M. Erickson received his training at Williams Army Flying School, Chandler, Arizona and graduated on September 26, 1942 as a bombardier. After receiving his commission, he was sent to Florida, where he also became a navigator. For the past two months, he has been stationed at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Lieutenant Erickson was 23 years of age and a graduate of the Eau Claire Senior High School.

He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Edward, who is now stationed at Maxwell Field, Alabama in the Army Air Corps, and Leonard; two sisters, Norma and Ellen, all at home.
