Robert E. Falkner

Commissioned in Merchant Marine
Robert E. Falkner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Falkner of Milwaukee, has been commissioned Ensign in the Engineer Department of the U.S. Maritime Service. He was given his commission at the U.S. Maritime Service Officer's School, Fort Trumbull, New London, Connecticut. After a short leave, he will report at San Francisco, CA for sailing orders.

Ensign Falkner was a former resident of Eau Claire and is a graduate of Eau Claire High School.


Robert E. Falkner, Merchant Seaman, is now on a 30-day leave at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Falkner, Route 1. Robert has just returned from 9 months of almost constant service at sea. The trip just completed was of five-months duration and was spent entirely in the Mediterranean area. This is an especially happy reunion for the family, as Robertís father, Frank Falkner, also just returned home on December 29, after four months spent in Alaska and Canada on the Alcan Highway.

Merchant Seaman Robert Falkner returned to New York on June 26 to resume his seaman's duties, after spending a short leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Falkner, Route 1, Eau Claire.
