Eau Claire Ensign at New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS, LA--Ensign Joseph F. Fisher, 23-year-old Naval Supply Corps Officer, has reported for temporary duty to the New Orleans, LA Armed Guard Center, according to an announcement from the Eighth Naval District Headquarters.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Fisher, 704 Ferry Street, Eau Claire, Ensign Fisher is a 1942 graduate of Eau Claire State Teachers College, where he edited the Spectator school publication.

The young officer, who is unmarried, expects to be assigned to duty afloat soon.

Naval Officer Gets Promotion
Lieutenant (junior grade) Joseph F. Fisher, United States Naval Reserve, was recently promoted from the rank of Ensign, according to word received here. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fisher, Jr., 704 Ferry Street.

Lieutenant (junior grade) Fisher was stationed at New Orleans the past five months but was recently transferred to Bremerton, Washington Naval Base.

Commissioned Naval Ensigns
Ensign Joseph F. Fisher, Supply Corps, United States Naval Reserve, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fisher, Jr., 704 Ferry Street, graduated from a course in supply and disbursement at Harvard University on December 29, 1943. He began his studies there on September 1, 1943.

Ensign Fisher spent three days leave here, before leaving for New Orleans, where he is to await further orders.

Receiving his commission last April when he entered the Navy, he was stationed at Madison, doing supply and disbursement work before being assigned to a course at Harvard.

Ensign Fisher is a graduate of St. Patrick's High School and the Eau Claire State Teachers College.
