Is Wounded in Action in France
Staff Sergeant Ralph R. Freid, son of Alfred Freid, Route 3, was slightly wounded in action in France on October 3, according to a letter and telegram received here.

Staff Sergeant Freid entered the service on June 9, 1941 and trained at Camp Roberts, CA and Camp Custer, MI.

He left for overseas duty in April 1942 and was stationed in Iceland, North Ireland, and England, before going to France last July. He is with an Infantry unit.
