Leonard (Lenny) John Gabriel

GRADUATES
Two Eau Claire, WI Bluejackets were advanced in ratings or won recognition as “qualified strikers" for Petty Officer ratings in graduation exercises held today for the Service School at the U.S. Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, IL. They are Thomas B. Running, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Running, 1209 Menomonie, Seaman First Class, Yeoman School; and Leonard J. Gabriel, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Gabriel, 220 North Seventh, Seaman Second Class, Gunner’s Mate School.

Leonard John Gabriel, Gunner’s Mate Third Class, has returned to the Amphibious Base at Solomons, MD, after a 10-day leave spent visiting friends and relatives. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Gabriel, 220 North Seventh Street of this city.

LEONARD GABRIEL
Leonard Gabriel, Gunner's Mate Second Class, son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving L. Gabriel, 220 North Seventh Street, has returned to San Pedro, California, after spending a 30-day leave with his parents.

A graduate of the Eau Claire Senior High School, he entered the Navy on June 19, 1943. He has been overseas for sixteen months and has taken part in two major operations, the invasions of Leyte and Iwo Jima.

At San Pedro, he has been assigned to an LST boat.
