George A. Garman

Graduating from Military Academy
WEST POINT, NY—Among the cadets graduating from the United States Military Academy this June is George A. Garman, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Garman, 953 Main Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

An appointee of Representative Merlin Hull of the Ninth Wisconsin District, Garman was graduated from Eau Claire High School and Lawrence College at Appleton, prior to receiving his appointment to the Military Academy.

While at the Academy, he went out for hockey and baseball and also belonged to the choir, 100th Nite Show Case, and the Ring Committee. Garman is editor of the Howitzer, the military academy annual yearbook.

During his first year, be attained the unusually high rank of Lieutenant and Battalion Adjutant. Upon graduation, he will receive his commission in the Field Artillery.

Mr. and Mrs. George A. Garman, Sr., will leave Eau Claire in the near future to attend the graduation exercises at West Point. Garman is one of the 18 men from Wisconsin graduating with the class of 853.
