James A. Germann

SGT. JAMES GERMANN
Sergeant James A. Germann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reinhart Germann, Route 1, Fall Creek, has arrived in England, according to a letter received by his parents.

He entered the service in June 1941 and received his training at various camps in the United States.

He has a brother, Bill Germann, in the Rainbow Division at Camp Gruber, Oklahoma.

Before the war, the Germann family suffered a catastrophic tragedy when their entire farm burned to the ground.  They lost everything--except the silo. It can still be seen, a half mile southwest of Strum on County Trunk D.

After the war, Jim owned and operated the Bracket Bar. Jim's brother, Tim, played the accordion and the harmonica, entertaining at many local night clubs.
