Delores A. Gilchrist

Miss Delores Gilchrist, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Gilchrist of 734 Broadway Street, has been accepted in the WAVES and will leave soon to take her preliminary training at Hunter College in New York City.

Miss Gilchrist was graduated of the Eau Claire High School, the State Teachers College, and taught for the past two years in the public schools at Janesville.

Delores A. Gilchrist, Specialist T Second Class, United States Naval Reserve, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Gilchrist, 734 Broadway Street, has been transferred to the Naval Air Station at Seattle, Washington for a 10-week course in link celestial navigation.

Miss Gilchrist has been a link instructor and supervisor at the Unites States Naval Air Station at Atlanta, GA, since completing her boot training at Hunter College, NY.  

In February, upon receiving her second class rating, she received a five-day furlough. This, she spent with her parents here.

Helen M. Gilchrist, her sister, who formerly taught at Beloit, is now a United States Cadet Nurse of the University of Minnesota. She is taking her third quarter of training at Minneapolis General Hospital. On May 8, she expects to rotate to Northern Pacific Hospital to begin her specialized services.

Delores A. Gilchrist, Specialist T First Class, is spending a 15-day furlough with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Gilchrist, 738 Lake Drive. Delores is a Link Celestial Navigation operator at the U. S. Naval Air Station at Corpus Christi, Texas.
