|PFC. MAHLON GRAVES
Private First Class Mahlon A. Graves, United States Marine Corps Reserve, has been wounded on Iwo Jima, Volcano Islands on February 19, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Graves, 309 Ferry Street.
He left for overseas in July 1943 and saw service on the Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, and Bougainville. He is with the Fifth Division of the 28th Marines.
Private First Class Graves graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1942 and entered the Marines on August 24, 1942. He received six weeks of boot training at San Diego, CA; then entered paratrooper training at Camp Gillespie, graduating as a paratrooper on November 30, 1943.
