Private Gordon E. Hagen, U.S. Marine Corps, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hagen, 447 Vine Street, has arrived in the Pacific area, during the month, according to word received by his parents.

He is with the replacement draft.

Private Hagen enlisted in the Marine Corps on May 19, 1944 and received his boot training at San Diego, CA and Oceanside, CA.


Meet on Saipan

Three Eau Claire men met on Saipan recently and spent two days visiting, during their spare time, according to letter received by relatives here. They were Private Gordon Hagen, Corporal Robert Market, and Private First Class Conrad Nelson.

Private Hagen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hagen, 447 Vine Street, entered the U.S. Marine Corps in March 1944 and went overseas in December. He received his basic training at San Diego, CA.

Corporal Market, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Market, 313 Vine Street, entered the Army Air Corps on December 7, 1942. He is a Radio Technician with the Army Air Forces.

Private First Class Nelson, son of  Mr. and Mrs. Carl A. Nelson, 901 Platt Street, entered the U.S. Marine Corps in February 1943. He left for overseas the following July and participated in the battles of Tarawa, Saipan, and Tinian.
