Robert J. Hagstrom, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hagstrom, 1633 Fenwick Avenue, is enrolled as an Aviation Cadet in the Pre-Flight School at Maxwell Field, Alabama, an installation of the Army Air Forces Training Command. Here, the cadets are receiving nine weeks of intensive military, physical, and academic training. Aviation Cadet Hagstrom is a graduate of Eau Claire High School, Class of 1943. His father served in World War I.
Aviation Cadet Robert J. Hagstrom, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hagstrom, of 1633 Fenwick Avenue, was recently awarded a Sharpshooter's Medal for proficiency in firing the .45 caliber automatic pistol at Maxwell Field, Alabama, an installation of the Army Air Forces Training Command.

Hagstrom, 1633 Fenwick Avenue, has been graduated from Deming Army Air
Field, "The Army Air Forces Border Bombardier School," it was announced by
Colonel John P. Ryan, Commanding Officer.
He has been appointed a Flight Officer and awarded the Silver Bombardier Wings, after successfully undergoing the rigid 18-week course in high-altitude precision bombing as well as important phases of navigation. Prior to his assignment at Deming Army Air Field, he had completed training in aerial gunnery.
Before entering the Army Air Forces, Flight Officer Hagstrom attended Eau Claire High School.
