Vane Stanley Hayes

Vane Stanley Hayes, Seaman Second Class, has arrived somewhere in the Marianas Islands, where he is stationed at a Naval Supply Depot, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Hayes of the town of Washington.

Seaman Second Class Hayes entered the Navy on June 26, 1944 and received his boot training at Great Lakes, IL. He also trained at Dearborn, MI and at Treasure Island and San Bruno, CA.

He has a brother, Corporal Minor Hayes, serving in the Army in France.

Private First Class Minor D. Hayes has arrived somewhere in England, according to word received by his wife, Mrs. Floris Hayes, who resides on Rural Route 5, Eau Claire. He is a Motor Messenger with the Signal Corps.

Private First Class Hayes entered the service on October 17, 1942 and received his training at Camp Joseph T. Robinson, AR; Camp Phillips, KS; and Camp Crowder, MO. He had been stationed on the Alaskan Highway with a Quartermaster Truck Regiment, prior to being transferred to England.

Private First Class Hayes is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Hayes, town of Washington.

His brother, Stanley, is stationed at Great Lakes, IL in the Navy.
