Douglas A. Heimstead, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank F. Heimstead, Chippewa Falls, Route 6, has begun studies at the Army Air Forces Officer Candidate School, Miami Beach, FL, which, when successfully completed, will qualify him for a commission as Lieutenant in the Air Forces. He went to Miami Beach from Laredo, TX, where he held the rank of Warrant Officer, junior grade. He is a graduate of Eau Claire High School.

|Lieutenant Douglas A. Heimstead, having successfully
completed his course at the Air Forces Officer Candidate School at Miami
Beach, FL, has received his commission as Second Lieutenant in the Air
Forces of the Army of the United States. His duties will be to direct
vital administrative and supply operations of the Army Air Forces in
theaters of operations all over the world.
