He enlisted in the Army on March 23, 1943 and received his training at Camp Butner, NC; Camp Pickett, VA; and Fort George Meade, MD.
Private Heller is in the Infantry.

Technical Sergeant Harland E. Heller, son of Mrs. Minnie Heller, Seymour Road, has been awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Europe. He has been stationed near the Belgium-German border.
Sergeant Heller enlisted in the Infantry on March 23, 1943 and went overseas in June 1944.
Before going overseas, he received his training at Camp Butner, NC; Camp Pickett, VA; and Fort George Meade, MD.
His Purple Heart was received by his mother on February 4. According to a letter received from him, the Sergeant is convalescing in a hospital in Paris.
