Roy Henderson Returns Home on Sick Leave
Private First Class Roy Henderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Henderson, 318 First Avenue, is home on sick leave. He was seriously wounded last November, while fighting in the Buna sector of New Guinea. He was brought from New Guinea to Port Moresby and, from there, to Australia. There, he received the decoration of the Purple Heart.

In April, he entered Halloran Hospital in New York and, from there, was sent to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC and, later, to Glen Forrest, MD.

Private First Class Henderson left Eau Claire in October 1940 with Company B of the National Guard. He received training in Louisiana; at Fort Devon, MA; and Fort Ord, CA.

He will return to Glen Forrest for further medical care.
