Howard Hibbard, Motor Machinist's Mate Second Class, has arrived somewhere overseas, according to word received by his wife, who lives on Route 4, Eau Claire.
He entered the service on May 10, 1943 and received his training at Farragut, ID; Chicago, IL; Washington, DC; New Orleans, LA; and Mobile, AL.
Howard Hibbard, Motor Machinist's Mate Second Class, has arrived in Africa, according to word received by his wife, who resides on Route 4.
He entered the service in May 1943 and has been stationed in England, since March of this year. In the Amphibious Forces, he took part in the invasion of France.

Howard ("Howie") Hibbard, Motor Machinist Mate Second Class, who has been serving in the Atlantic Theater of War the past nine months, has returned to his ship, after spending a 30-day leave with his wife, Mrs. Arvilla Hibbard, Route 4, Eau Claire.
Machinist's Mate Hibbard is serving with the Amphibious Forces and took part in amphibious operations in the Normandy Campaign and in southern France. His LST boat was among the first to land troops and equipment in the Normandy Invasion, taking back the first wounded in that campaign to England.
