Robert Hoton

Corporal Robert Hoton has been promoted to Sergeant somewhere in northern France, according to word received by his wife and children, who reside at 316 Vine Street.

He is with the Army Medical Corps.

Corporal Hoton was inducted into the service on October 8, 1942 and received his training at Fort Lewis, WA; Goffs, Banning, San Louis Obispo, and Camp Cook, CA.

Going overseas in April 1944, he served in North Africa and Italy, before going to France.

Sergeant Lawrence E. Lokken, 925 North Seventh Street (cook) and Sergeant Robert E. Hoton, 308 Vine Street (baker) are staff members of the 51st Evacuation Hospital, infant of the United States Seventh Army’s large evacuation hospitals.  It was set up five months ago north of the Riviera beaches of Southern France and has operated as a veteran from the start, according to its record.  During the month of December, it treated 3,158 patients.
