Is Killed in Action in Alaska
Private First Class William J. Huff, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Huff, Sr., 421 1/2 Franklin Street, was killed on June 22 in Alaska, where he was serving in the U. S. Signal Corps, according to word received by his parents.

The manner of his death was not stated in the message, and it is not known in what part of Alaska he was serving.

Huff was born on July 30, 1922 and enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 30, 1940. He was a graduate of the Eau Claire Senior High School.

Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Miss Annie Huff, now in Spartanburg, SC, also in government service.
