Henry L. Jaastad

FROM ALEUTIANS
Private First Class Henry L. Jaastad, Infantry, will arrive in Eau Claire about February 1 to spend a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Jaastad, 333 McKinley Avenue. He is now at Camp Swift, TX, after arriving in this country, after spending 18 months serving in the Aleutian Islands. Private First Class Jaastad entered the Army while a student at the University of Wisconsin in February 1943 and went overseas, after receiving 13 weeks basic training at Camp Roberts, CA.

Private First Class Henry L. Jaastad, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Jaastad, 333 McKinley Avenue, has reported to Lexington, VA, where he will attend Personnel School at Washington and Lee University.

After spending a 21-day furlough with his parents here, he reported to Camp Swift, TX for his new assignment.

Private First Class Jaastad recently returned to the United States, after being stationed in the Aleutians for 18 months.


PROMOTED
Henry Jaastad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jaastad, 333 McKinley Avenue, has been promoted from Private First Class to Corporal at Camp Shelby, MS, where he is an assistant squad leader with an Infantry Advanced Training Regiment.
