Donald C. Johnson

AWARDED
Corporal Donald C. Johnson, who is with the Field Artillery at Camp Polk, LA, has been awarded a Good Conduct Medal. He is the son of Mrs. Katherine Johnson, formerly of Eau Claire.

Corporal and Mrs. Donald C. Johnson have returned to Camp Polk, LA, after a 15-day furlough spent here with Corporal Johnson's mother, Mrs. Kathryn Johnson, 212 1/2 Babcock Street.

CPL. DONALD C. JOHNSON
Corporal Donald C. Johnson, USA, son of Mrs. Katherine Johnson, formerly of Eau Claire but now living in the state of Washington, has arrived in England, according to word received here.

Corporal Johnson is a graduate of the Eau Claire Senior High. 

He entered the service in September 1942 and received his training at Fort Riley, KS and at Camp Polk, LA.


Is Prisoner of War in Germany
SGT. DONALD C. JOHNSON
Word has been received, here, that Sergeant Donald C. Johnson, reported missing in action somewhere in Belgium on December 19, 1944, is a prisoner of war in Germany.

Sergeant Johnson is the son of Mrs. Kathryn Johnson, formerly of Eau Claire and now of Seattle, WA. His wife and their son reside with her parents in Phoenix, AZ.

Sergeant Johnson went overseas last August and was serving with an Armored Field Artillery Unit.


Artilleryman Is Missing in Belgium

Word has been received, here, that Sergeant Donald C. Johnson, has been missing in action somewhere in Belgium since December 19. He is the son of Mrs. Kathryn Johnson, formerly of Eau Claire and now living in Seattle, WA.

His wife, the former Therese Talarico, and son are making their home with her parents in Phoenix, AZ.

Sergeant Johnson entered service in September 1942 and left for overseas with an Armored Field Artillery Unit in August 1944.

He has two brothers and a sister in service, First Lieutenant Owen M. Johnson, Army Air Forces in Belgium, Private Richard G. Johnson with the Quartermaster Corps in Italy, and Lorraine, Store keeper Third Class in the WAVES at Treasure Island, San Francisco.
