George A. Johnson

Private George Johnson has arrived safely in North Africa, according to word received by his brother, Raymond Johnson, Menomonie. 

He entered the service in May 1942 and received his training at Camp Shelby, MS; Shreveport, LA; the Desert Training Center, CA; and Fort Dix, NJ. 

He visited at the home of his brother, Raymond, last November, before leaving the states.


Lawrence O. Johnson, Seaman First Class, enlisted in the Navy in August 1942 and received his boot training at Great Lakes. He was sent to Norfolk, VA and then to Puerto Rico. Since July 1943, he has been stationed at a Naval Air Base in Cuba. 

He is a brother of Private George A. Johnson, who is now with the Armed Forces in Africa and Raymond Johnson, Menomonie, with whom he made his home. 

He was home on furlough last September.
