Mortimer C. Johnson

Mortimer Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Johnson, 433 Forest Street, has been pledged to the Theta Phi Fraternity at the University of Wisconsin, where he is a student in the Navy V-12 unit.

Commissioned at Marquette
Ensign Mortimer Johnson, 433 Forest Street, received his commission at the midwinter commencement exercises at Marquette University in Milwaukee on February 27.

He was a member of Marquette's naval ROTC unit, one of 44 ROTC members who were commissioned by Captain Robert A. Dawes, Campus Naval Commandant, and who will go on active duty immediately.

Ensign Mortimer C. Johnson, 19-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Johnson, 433 Forest Street, has arrived in Hawaii and is attending Communications School with Administration of Amphibious Forces in the Pacific. 

He enlisted in the Navy V-12 while a freshman at Eau Claire State Teachers College. He received his Naval training at the University of Wisconsin and Marquette University, from which he was graduated on February 27 of this year.
