Owen M. Johnson

Owen M. Johnson, formerly employed at the American National Bank, has graduated from the Army Air Forces Officer Candidate School, Miami Beach, FL, as Second Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, according to word received by his father, O. W. Johnson, 821 Water Street.

Promotions announced by the War Department include the following:  From Captain to Major, Norman M. Lyons, Durand; from First Lieutenant to Captain, John Hassemer, Spooner; from Second to First Lieutenant, Owen M. Johnson, Eau Claire; and John J. Anderson, Chippewa Falls.

In England
First Lieutenant Owen M. Johnson, Army Air Forces, has arrived somewhere in England, according to word received by his wife, who resides here. 

Lieutenant Johnson enlisted on July 27, 1942. After training at Camp Grant, IL and Santa Anna, CA, he attended Officer Candidate School at Miami Beach, FL, where he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant.

Artilleryman Is Missing in Belgium
Word has been received, here, that Sergeant Donald C. Johnson, has been missing in action somewhere in Belgium since December 19. He is the son of Mrs. Kathryn Johnson, formerly of Eau Claire and now living in Seattle, WA.

His wife, the former Therese Talarico, and son are making their home with her parents in Phoenix, AZ.

Sergeant Johnson entered service in September 1942 and left for overseas with an Armored Field Artillery Unit in August 1944.

He has two brothers and a sister in service, First Lieutenant Owen M. Johnson, Army Air Forces in Belgium, Private Richard G. Johnson with the Quartermaster Corps in Italy, and Lorraine, Store keeper Third Class in the WAVES at Treasure Island, San Francisco.
