Roger Kersten

SGT. ROGER KERSTEN
Sergeant Roger Kersten, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kersten of Altoona, has arrived in England, according to word received here.

Sergeant Kersten, who entered the service in December 1942, received his training at Camp Phillips, KS; Camp Forrest, TN; and Camp McCain, MS. He is in the Infantry.

His brother, William Kersten, is an Electrician's Mate Third Class with the Seabees in the Pacific.


William Kersten, Carpenter's Mate Third Class, is serving with the Seabees in the Hawaiian Islands.

He enlisted in August 1943 and received his training at Camp Perry, VA; Camp Halloway, Gulfport, MS; Camp Rousseau and Port Hueneme, CA. He has been overseas since May of this year.

Petty Officer Kersten is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kersten, Altoona. His wife and four children reside in Altoona.

His brother, Sergeant Roger Kersten, is in the Infantry in Mississippi.
