Technician Fourth Grade Harold J. Kleist, 1331 Main Street, is with an Ordnance Motor Vehicle Assembly Unit in Normandy, which re-assembles crated Army vehicles for use against the Nazis. Trucks and cars are rolling off the re-assembly line at the rate of one vehicle every 15 minutes, and the men are utilizing but three hours and 45 minutes to completely assemble one vehicle.
The crating saves 50 per cent shipping space, according to Captain Charles Reese, Oklahoma City, OK, who commands the unit.
Technician Fourth Grade Harold J. Kleist, husband of Mrs. Harold J. Kleist, 1331 Main Street, has been awarded the Good Conduct Medal in France. He is a worker in the first motor vehicle assembly line in France.
