Veteran of Three Invasions Killed Fighting in Reich Mr. and Mrs. John H. Kneer, 623 Fall Street, received notice from the War Department that their son, Sergeant Albert A. Kneer, was killed in action in Germany on March 19.
Sergeant Kneer was a veteran of the North African, Sicilian, and Normandy invasions, serving with General Patton's Third Army, during 29 months of overseas duty. He was in Patton's Armored Field Artillery and had participated in virtually all important engagements in Africa, Sicily, and Europe.
Sergeant Kneer enlisted in the Army in July 1941. He went overseas for the African invasion in November 1942.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Sergeant Joseph Kneer, with an Air Service Squadron in the Philippines, and Bernard, Eau Claire; three sisters, Sister M. Geneva of La Crosse and Lucille and Genevieve.
