Arthur W. Knott

Captain Arthur W. Knott, Jr., has arrived somewhere in France with the airborne troops, according to word received by his grandmother, Mrs. Melvin H. Knott, 514 Fifth Street.

He is the son of Captain and Mrs. Arthur W. Knott, formerly of Independence, KS. His father is in the Quartermaster Corps at Jefferson Barracks, MO. Before the war, he was a county agent at Independence, MO.

Young Captain Knott entered the service in 1940 with the National Guard. He received most of his training at Fort Bragg, NC and went overseas in January.

His wife and three-month-old son live at Roanoke Rapids, NC.
