Clinton Thomas Knox

Eau Claire men, Corporal Galen G. McGinnis, son of Kenneth E. McGinnis, 1004 Third Avenue, and Private First Class Clinton T. Knox, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Knox, 103 Washington Street, are attending the Heavy Bomber Gunnery School at Sioux City, Iowa. Both will complete courses soon, when they will be assigned to overseas duty. Corporal McGinnis entered the service on July 7, 1943 and Private First Class Knox on February 20, 1944.

TURRET GUNNER
Corporal Clinton T. Knox, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Knox, 103 Washington Street, has recently been assigned as ball turret gunner in a 15th Air Force Flying Fortress Squadron, operating from an advanced base in Italy. His B-17 group has been bombing enemy targets in Germany, Austria, and the Balkan countries. 

Corporal Knox entered service in August 1943 and received his gunner's wings last June and was sent overseas in November.


PROMOTION
Clinton T. Knox, 103 Washington Street, has recently been promoted to Sergeant. He is a ball turret gunner in a 15th Air Force Flying Fortress Squadron, operating from an advanced base in Italy.

Sergeant Knox, who has taken part in aerial attacks on enemy installations in Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia, entered the Army Air Forces in August 1943.

He received his gunner's wings at Kingman, AZ in June 1944. After advanced flight training, he was sent overseas in November.

Turret Gunner Gets Air Medal
15TH AAF in Italy—Sergeant Clinton Thomas Knox, 103 Washington Street, has recently been awarded the Air Medal for "meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight."

He is a ball turret gunner in a 15th Air Force Flying Fortress squadron, operating from an advanced base in Italy. He has taken part in 12 combat missions against the enemy.

Sergeant Knox entered the Army Air Forces in August 1943. He received his gunner's wings at Kingman, AZ in June 1944. After advanced flight training, he was sent overseas in November.
