H. Richard (Ree) Lasker 

Richard Lasker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lasker, Oakwood Place, left Wednesday on the "400" for Fort Sheridan. From there, he will go to Miami Beach, FL, where he will enter the Army Air Forces Classification Center.

Win Gunner's Wings

Private First Class H. Richard Lasker and Private First Class Gerald D. Olson were graduated from the Army Air Forces Training Command Aerial Gunnery School at Harlingen Field, TX on July 1 and were awarded gunner's wings.

Private First Class Lasker is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lasker, Oakwood Place, and Private First Class Olson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Olson, 604 Churchill Street.

They entered the service on February 9, 1944 and received their basic training at Miami Beach, FL. They were then transferred to the gunnery school at Harlingen, TX.

Both are 1943 graduates of Eau Claire High School and attended Eau Claire State Teachers College, prior to entering the service.

Lieutenant Robert Lasker, brother of Private First Class Lasker, is stationed at Kearney Field, NE at present, where he is a navigator on a B-17. He is expected to leave for foreign duty this week.

Lieutenant Robert Lasker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lasker, Oakwood Place, has been reported missing over Germany on September 28. He is a pilot on a B-17 Flying Fortress. Lieutenant Lasker was based in England.

He entered the service in February 1943 and received his wings and commission in April of this year. He went overseas on July 17.

His brother, Corporal H. Richard Lasker, is an Aerial Gunner, stationed at Muroc, CA.
