Robert L. Lewis

Robert L. Lewis, 540 Cochrane Street, was recently commissioned Second Lieutenant and awarded silver pilot's wings in graduation exercises at the La Junta Army Air Field, La Junta, CO. He is on a delay en route to Del Rio, Texas, where he will receive B-26 training.

Lieutenant Lewis entered the service in August 1942. After receiving training at Fort McClellan, AL, he was sent to Bermuda in the Coast Artillery. In May 1943, he returned to the United States and entered cadet training.

At Creighton University, Omaha, NE, he received his college detachment training. From there, he went to Santa Ana, CA; Ryan Field, Hemet, CA;  LeMoore Field, CA; and La Junta, CO, where he received his advanced training and was commissioned.

Lieutenant Lewis, a graduate of Woodville High School, is the son of Mrs. W. G. Meyer, Spring Valley.
