Harold A. Lovvik

First Lieutenant Harold A. Lovvik, former head of the Traffic Department with the Eau Claire Police was promoted to Captain on May 15, according to word received by his wife, 1112 First Avenue.

Captain Lovvik is stationed in England with a Military Police Unit.

He entered the service on October 23, 1942 and took his basic training at Fort Riley, KS.  He was graduated from Officer Candidate School at Fort Custer, MI with the rank of Second Lieutenant on April 23, 1943 and was promoted to First Lieutenant on August 18, 1943.  He served at Camp Shelby, MS and in Louisiana before going overseas.

Capt. H Lovvik Wins Bronze Star

Captain Harold A. Lovvik, Corps of Military Police, United States Army, has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in connection with military operations against the enemy in France.

The award was made by order of the commanding general.

Before entering the service, Captain Lovvik was head of the Traffic Bureau of the Eau Claire Police Department
