David (Davie) P. Lyons

Private David P. Lyons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter A. Lyons, 316 Whipple Street, has arrived somewhere in Europe, according to word received by his parents.

He enlisted in the Army Specialized Training Program on June 29, 1943 and received his basic training at Fort Benning, GA.  He was then assigned to the University Engineering School at Ann Arbor, MI.

Upon dissolution of the ASTP, he was sent to Camp McCoy, where he attended Radio Signal Corps School two months and then was placed in the Infantry.  He reported to Fort Meade, MD and later was sent overseas.

Before entering the service, he attended Teachers College here.
