|Hold Memorial Service for Lt. James MacRae|
|MINNEAPOLIS, July 29—(AP) Memorial services were
conducted Friday here for Lieutenant James MacRae, 44, former member of the
Naval Aviation Cadet Selection Board in Minneapolis, who was killed in
the Pacific on July 15.
Lieutenant McRae was killed three days after leaving the West Coast.
He was a past president of the Minneapolis Junior Association of Commerce and was manager of an investment banking house in Minneapolis.
Lieutenant MacRae was widely known in Eau Claire because of frequent visits to this city, recruiting Naval Aviation Cadets and WAVES and interviewing applicants for commissions in the Navy. He was one of the first naval officers to come to Eau Claire on cadet recruiting detail and was a speaker at meetings of service clubs and other groups. He served as a Lieutenant in the Army during the First World War.
