Waldemar C. Mai, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Mai, 515 Fountain Street, has been promoted to First Class Private and transferred from the 31st Medical Regiment at Camp Barkeley, TX to the Medical Technical School at the Army and Navy Hospital, Hot Springs, AR for special training. He reports Texas as the only state in the Union where "you can stand in mud and have dust blow in your eyes."
|Mr. and Mrs. Frank French of 705 Fountain Street announce
the marriage of their daughter, Mildred, to Private First Class Waldemar C. Mai, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Mai of 512 Fountain Street. The ceremony took place
at Our Redeemer Church at 6:30 on March 2, with Reverend Herbert Juneau
Mr. and Mrs. William Wragge of Eau Claire were attendants.
The bride wore a blue wool suit with matching accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Her attendant, Mrs. Wragge, wore a suit of tan wool with matching accessories and a corsage of Talisman roses.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for about 45 relatives and friends.
Private First Class Mai has returned to his station at Camp Barkeley, Texas, and Mrs. Mai is residing temporarily with her parents.
