Everett A. McFarlane

Everett A. McFarlane, United States Marine Corps, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. McFarlane, 418 First Avenue, has arrived overseas, according to word from the War Department. 

McFarlane left Eau Claire last August and received his training at Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA and at Camp Elliott, San Diego. 

He is an expert rifleman.

Miss Marjorie L. Cornell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cornell, 528 Cedar Street, and Private First Class Everett McFarlane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred McFarlane, 418 First Avenue, Eau Claire, were married on Sunday, May 20, at the Second Congregational Church this city. The single-ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Alfred Ward.

The bride wore a gold suit with brown accessories and a corsage of Talisman roses. Her attendant was her sister, Mrs. Charles Hart, who wore a green suit with brown accessories and a corsage of shell pink roses. The groom was attended by his brother, Archie McFarlane.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents.

The bride was employed as government supervisor at the National Pressure Cooker Company.

Private First Class McFarlane served for 24 months in the South Pacific, where he took part in four campaigns. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August 24, 1942.
